Humanianity & Rational Ethical Living

Post by Mike »

What is the relationship between Humanity and Rational Ethical Living—specifically the books your wrote ? Is rational ethical living as described in your books one Humanianity belief system that conforms to the HUEP?

I am just one Humanian, expressing my viewpoints and hoping for productive challenging and exploration of those viewpoints. i am Humanian because I am committed to the HUEP. I can make mistakes, like anyone else. But I write what I believe, in hopes that I am making a positive contribution. I believe this is pretty well explained on the HOME page of https://www.humanianity.com. You are free to propose otherwise, for everyone to consider also. But you have indicated that you are not Humanian. I hope one day you will come around and join me in trying to advocate that we work toward a far better way of living on this planet than we have so far been doing.

This greatly helps to understand what Humanianity is; I was getting confused between the two. Thanks!

Also, remember that the book on "Rational-Ethical Living" was written in 2006, substantially before the term "Humanianity" was adopted. Also, initially the HUEP was called the REUEP (Rational-Ethical Ultimate Ethical Principle), but subsequently REUEP was changed to HUEP because there could be other rational-ethical ultimate ethical principles than just the Humanian one.
